Thank you for choosing to buy from Ellement’s range of outdoor products.

While the products you have chosen are for outdoor use, it is strongly recommended that you install, use and maintain these products as per our instructions. Care & Maintenance
Dear Customer,

While we thank you very much for your keen interest in our outdoor products, we'd like to inform you about their care and maintenance to extend their life and keep them looking good for years.

GENERIC TIMBER & STEEL TIMBER FURNITURE
The classic look of outdoor furniture will last for years when it is properly cared for. All timber has natural oils that diminish when exposed to harsh sunlight and rain. Depending on the exposure to the elements, bleaching and other effects of harsh UV rays and rain can be avoided by periodically applying specific hardwood oils for the treatment of timber. These oils help resist the adverse effects of being outdoors. Hardwood oils and application kits are available with us and we could demonstrate using them at your convenience.

Instructions:
The furniture is to be sanded down with a smooth sand paper and washed with a mild detergent before being allowed to dry for a few hours. Hardwood oil is to be applied in the direction of the grain, and allowed to be absorbed into the timber for at-least 3 hours. Wipe off any excess oil that is on the surface and allow to dry completely before use. Wipe steel frames with a wet cloth and apply grease if necessary to the folding parts and hardware to keep them working smooth.

Repeat periodically depending on the exposure to the elements and specifically before summer and the monsoon.

SYNTHETIC WICKER FURNITURE
Synthetic Wicker furniture is made with Aluminum frames and hand woven with synthetic fibers. These fibers are UV stabilized and highly durable, however need periodic cleaning from dust and stains to keep them looking good as new.

Instructions:
Synthetic Wicker furniture can be washed & cleaned with a hose. If additional cleaning is needed to get rid of stubborn dirt, brush with mild soap and cold water. After allowing the furniture to dry completely, use a wax polish if necessary to get a shine on the wicker. Store cushions indoors and keep furniture covered while not in use or during the off season.

PARASOL & UMBRELLAS
Parasols & Umbrellas made of water repellent material can be easily cleaned and maintained. Follow the below given simple steps to keep your Parasols appearance looking like new.

Instructions:
Use a sponge dipped in mild detergent and water to clean your parasol. After you rinse the detergent from the umbrella make sure to leave it completely open to dry thoroughly. Keep an umbrella closed during weather disturbances and make sure to open it afterward and clear away any dirt that might have blown or washed into the folds. Always clean the umbrella before putting it away, and make sure it is completely dry before storing it.

EARTHENWARE AND POTTERY
Our earthenware & pottery are prefinished and require little or no maintenance. Having been fired at very high temperatures, these products are very resistant to harsh sunlight which has no effects on the appearance of these products for years to come.

Instructions:
Natural stone impregnating sealers can be used on these products to protect against water stains or marks from being submerged in water. These sealants can be used to retain a fresh and glossy appearance if required. Wiping with a wet cloth or sponge keeps the products clean and looking good.

HAMMOCKS AND SWINGS
Getting a free standing stand is the best way to string a hammock or swing. This allows for hanging them almost anywhere. Trees can be used for mounting and trunks should be at-least 6" in diameter, attach the product or chains to rope with a bowline knot. Use S hooks to shorten the chains to a comfortable position and to take up the slack when the product stretches with use. Add extra lengths of chains to lengthen or adjust the height frequently to accommodate children.

Instructions:
Hammocks and swings are made from rope and fabrics and need to be periodically cleaned depending on the time they are exposed to the elements, dust and dirt. Regular cleaning will not only keep the product looking good but also improve the life. All hammocks and swings can be dusted and washed with a mild detergent when required. Products without spread bars can be machine washed. Never tamper with the knots or alter the structure of the product, as this could lead to serious injury if not secured properly.

OUTDOOR FABRICS - SUNBRELLA
One of the best ways to keep Sunbrella fabrics looking good and to delay deep or vigorous cleaning is to properly maintain the fabrics. This can be accomplished by simply brushing off dirt before it becomes embedded in the fabrics, wiping up spills as soon as they occur or spot cleaning soon after stains occur.

General or light cleaning

• Brush off any loose dirt.
• Machine wash at 40o C or hand wash as follows:
• Prepare a cleaning solution of 60 ml mild soap for 4 l lukewarm water (less than 40o C).
• Clean with a soft bristle brush and allow cleaning solution to soak into fabric.
• Rinse thoroughly and allow fabric to air dye.
• If necessary, use an iron set to "synthetic fabric" heat. DO NOT use a steamer or iron with steaming setting.

Heavy cleaning for stubborn stains and mildew

Sunbrella fabric does not promote mildew growth, however, mildew may grow on dirt and other foreign substances that are not removed from the fabric. To clean mildew, or other stubborn stains:

• Prepare a solution of 240 ml of bleach and 60 ml of mild soap for 4l of clean water. Spray on entire area and allow to soak into the fabric.
• Scrub vigorously with a soft bristle brush, rinse thoroughly and allow fabric to air dry.
For removable Sunbrella fabric umbrella and cushion covers, machine wash in cold water (less than 40o C). Depending on wash load size, use normal amounts of mild laundry soap and add 240ml of bleach if needed. Allow fabric to air dry. If stain and/or mildew are severe, bleach quantities may be increased.

*To extend the life of all outdoor products in tough tropical conditions, never leave them exposed to the vagaries of weather for long periods of time. Over exposure to UV rays and rain largely reduces the life of outdoor products and eventually causes irreparable damage. We recommend regular maintenance and storing these products properly covered when not in use
We hope you enjoy using these outdoor products as much as we have in sourcing and supplying them to you. Please feel free to call us for any more information you may need with regards to their maintenance.

WELCOME TO OUTDOOR LIVING….
